St Oswald's Catholic Primary School
60th Anniversary Celebrations
In 1964, St Oswald's Catholic Primary School opened its doors to its first pupils. We began our week long celebration by inviting past pupils and staff to attend a Celebration of the Word led by Father Keith. Our choir performed a medley of 1960s songs and our visitors enjoyed a beautifully prepared buffet and a tour of our school.
The following week, each day, we invited parents and families to join us for a cup of tea and biscuit as they watched their child's class perform a song from the 1960s.
Our week of celebrations finished with a 1960s themed day. Our children and staff dressed up in 1960s themed outfits, from Neil Armstrong to a Lego figure, and the children took part in 1960s themed activities. This was followed by our Summer Fayre.
