Year 6 have been working exceptionally hard in preparation for the SATS next month. This afternoon, we welcomed Lucy from the Healthy Minds Team to talk to us about worries and strategies we have to manage our worries . We picked lots of useful tips that we can use of the next few weeks and months!
We are very proud of the effort and tenacious effort shown by all our Year 6 children. And they have thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic breakfast at school each morning!
Today we visited SafetyWorks for the second time this year. This time we we looked at how to stay safe on the Metro, when crossing the roads, in the water over the Summer and the importance of being aware around fire hazards outside.

African Dancing
Victor taught the year six children some African traditional dance moves today in our PE lesson. We really enjoyed this surprise lesson.
Road Safety Talk
Year 6 enjoyed a road safety discussion with the wonderful representatives from South Tyneside Council. As the year six children become more independent we need to be more aware of how to get to our new schools safely and difficulties we may face.
Measuring
In todays mathematics lesson we have been converting units of measurement. To do this we have been measuring our height, body length and arm/hand span. We really enjoyed this interactive lesson!
Bikeability
The children in year 6 are taking part in a Bikeability level 2 sessions. The children are learning skills to allow them to be safe whilst riding their bike in the community and also how to check if their bicycle is safe to ride.
Year 6 continued to put their faith into action at the YMT festival, celebrating their journey this year and how the same Holy Spirit that guided Moses, is guiding them today, Right Here, Right Now.
We welcomed the School Nurse into Year 6 to talk about how and why our bodies change.
Maths Investigation
Our year 6 children have been enjoying a murder mystery maths challenge. The children have been asked to solve the crime by ruling out suspects using maths challenge such as converting measures to do so.
Year 6 Leavers Mass
Today the year six children attended the South Tyneside Catholic Primary Schools Leavers Mass at St. James' church in Hebburn. Our children joined together with nine other year six classes to thank God and celebrate their wonderful primary education. Fr Dixon spoke to us in his homily of the anticipation and excitement of moving on into our secondary schools.

Our Mental Health
We were visit by a memeber of the healthy minds team this afternoon. She discussed how the children could prepare for their transition into secondary school, for example getting organised with their equipment and also practising how to travel to school. Most importantly we thought about how we could ask for help if we were worried in our new schools.
Visit from the Ice Cream Van
We were treated to a lovely ice cream from Mr Woodhouse which was very welcome in his heat. The children, as you can see, enjoyed thier treats. Thank you Mr Woodhouse!
After a very successful year we celebrated the end of our Primary school journey with our friends and family. Joined together in prayer we reflected on how grateful we are for all the support and love shown to us on our educational journey.
