RAINBOWS BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

At St. Oswald's we are able to offer families the ‘Rainbows’ programme for your children.  This programme is to support children who have had some form of loss in their lives; this could be through parent separation, a death of a family member or a family member who has had to leave the family home for any other reason. The programme is specifically designed to support children in working through their feelings of loss, to put their feelings into words and to begin to accept what has taken place in the family.

The short weekly sessions are run by our ‘Rainbows’ trained teaching assistant.

To find out more information, or if you think your child would benefit from these sessions, please see your child’s class teacher or Mrs Arthur.

'I think Rainbows helps when you are sad and I can trust the people.

It really helps you through hard times.'

'Rainbows is really good, helpful and I made new friends.'

If you think your child would benefit from being part of our Rainbow group, please contact the headteacher to discuss.
