Summer Term 2021

Our Very Hungry Visitors

At the end of the Spring Term we had an exciting deliver in Reception Class, we had 5 tiny caterpillars come to our classroom and we all had an important job to look after them carefully. Every day we watched them closely, we drew pictures of them, we wrote about them and had lots of questions to ask about their lifecycle. We waited and waited and they soon became cocoons.

After the Easter holidays, we were very excited to see our caterpillars had transformed into butterflies! We made sure we gave them lots of yummy, sweet fruits everyday like strawberries and oranges. After a few days, it was time to let our butterflies free! We hope you enjoy our video below... we were very excited!

Our Class Chicks

This week we have had another exciting delivery! 10 eggs have arrived in Reception Class, we have been very curious to find out more. We unpacked all of the objects/ resources and predicted which creature could be growing inside our eggs. We had lots of ideas like; dragons, dinosaurs and chicks. We have been watching our eggs very carefully for any hatching. We will be sharing more images soon of the chicks hatching.

10 Fluffy Chicks!

This week all of our 10 eggs have hatched into 10 fluffy chicks! We have been very excited to watch our chicks and notice the changes over the week. We have been learning about how to care for our chicks and we have all looked taking turns to be on, 'Chick Watch'!

Woodwork Day

Today has been a very exciting day where we all enjoyed a, 'Woodwork Day'. As part of our learning about castles and knights, Reception class designed and made their own wooden knight puppet. There we lots of steps we had to follow including; gathering our resources, assembling our puppets and decorating them. This was lots of fun and we have enjoyed learning new skills..

EYFS Sports Day!

Reception Class had so much fun at their Sports Day this week, they all took part in lots of different races with their friends and whilst waiting for their races the children thoroughly enjoyed cheering on their peers. Well done Reception!
