We drew around an oval shape to make and decorate our own shiny Easter Eggs! Maybe you could save the shiny paper from your eggs and use it to make a decoration!

On Monday we went for a walk around our Nursery.  We were looking for signs that Spring is on the way!  We were looking for shoots, buds and flowers beginning to grow.  Look at our photographs - we found lots of signs that Spring is on the way!

World Book Day

We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day in Nursery!  All of the children all came to Nursery dressed as a character from their favorite story book. The characters included the BFG, Spiderman, Elsa and Anna, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a scarecrow, the Gruffalo, tigers, Little Red Riding Hood and many more!

We invited our grown ups in to share stories with us and they had lots of fun too!

Reading is really important and there are so many wonderful stories to enjoy!  Don't forget you can borrow books from our Nursery library!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

This week as part of our World Book Day celebrations we have been learning about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.  We read the story, explored our own chocolate river, found out about the characters from the story, looked at different shapes of chocolate, explored melting chocolate, made our own sweets using chocolate playdough and of course we tasted different types of chocolate!

Thank you to all of the parents and carers who attended the EYFS Phonics Cafe today!  We spent some time looking at the expectations of Math's in Nursery and Reception.  We talked about the teaching of Maths in school and then we thought about things we could do at home to support our children.

We then worked with our children on the 'World Math's Day' open ended triangle activities.  We loved how you had creative ideas to represent triangles, and how enthusiastic you worked.  Thank you for your continued support!

                    Percy the Park Keeper

We have enjoyed lot's of stories about Percy the Park Keeper this week in the nursery. It made us think about all the jobs that Percy does to look after the park and how we need to look after our outdoor area and forest school.

We changed the sand area into a 'soil area' for us to learn about planting seed, bulbs, vegetables and about the names of gardening tools!

We saw that Percy has lots of tools in his wheelbarrow and thought he must fix lots of things in the park! We loved learning and exploring real woodwork tools in our nursery. First , we learned how to use the tools safely and what they do! Then we had great fun using them!

We shared the story 'The Treasure Hunt' and found a letter from Percy! He had made a treasure hunt for us! We followed the clues and found the treasure! Mmmmmm Cookies!
