Making a mess!
In Science, we have been investigating the properties of materials. During this experiment, we tested the durability and absorbency of different materials to determine which would be the best for making into a cleaning cloth. We had to be very precise with our volume measurements to ensure that the test was fair. We recorded how much liquid was absorbed by each material, as well as the state of the "cloth" after use, in order to make the best overall judgement.
In PE, we have been working on our dynamic movement and core stability. Playing a game called "jumpball", which shares a lot of similarities with netball, we have been practising dodging, pivoting and feinting, in addition to accurate throwing and catching between team mates. As always, good communication is key to a successful team effort. Just look at some of these lunges!
In Design and Technology, we have been designing and producing bread products aimed at children. First, we looked at existing breads in supermarkets and surveyed our families' buying habits to see which varieties were the most popular. Next, we created design criteria for our own bread bun and drew a detailed plan. We spent a whole day making the final products in small groups, from the raw ingredients to the finished bread bun! After completion, we evaluated our product by comparing it to the design criteria. Then we considered how we could improve it next time to make the bread even more delicious and appealing to the customer.
