Spring 2

Easter

In Nursery we have been learning about the meaning of Easter. We shared the Easter Story and learned traditions we take part in during Easter.

Miss Porter and Mrs Raine think the children's favourite part was tasting different kind of chocolate!

Spring Explorers

This week in nursery we have been learning all about the season of 'Spring'. We went in our garden and looked for signs that Spring had begun!

We spotted lots of clues but we will be looking everyday for more changes to our garden and forest.

We learned that new life begins to grow during Spring. We were very interested how things grow and it is important for us to learn how to take care of living things.

We know that we have to make sure the flowers in the gardens need water to help them grow. We are growing our own cress in nursery, you might see it on the window sill. we have been watching it everyday to see how it grows!

Have a look around while you are out and about and see if you spot signs of Spring!

Leaf buds, daffodils, crocuses, bees, blossom, butterflies!

"There'll be blossom on the branches in the Spring."

Our Walk for Water Challenge

This week in nursery we have learned about the charity CAFOD. We watched a video about a girl who had to walk a very long way each day to a river to collect water for her family. We were very interested in the way other people live and different cultures.

"You will get poorly if you drink dirty water." Jase

"You need water to wash your dirty clothes." Freddie

"I have a bath!" Ava

"We can just go to the tap and turn it on." Olivia

We really enjoyed our 15 minute walk each day! We have completed laps of the big yard, completed a circuit in the hall, in fancy dress and even when it was very windy!

On Friday, we looked all over the school grounds for the hidden water drops. We found 23!

Shape Explorers

This week in our nursery we have investigated the properties of 2D shapes! We have counted 'points' and 'sides' of shapes. We have learned about curved shapes. It is important we learn how to identify shapes and notice them in our surrounding environment. We have had lots of shape fun all week!

Maybe you can look for shapes in your homes or while you are outside!

Using 2D shapes to make pictures

We were shape detectives! Recognising shapes in the environment.

Shape Pizzas! We made pizzas and added shaped ingredients!
