During the spring term, St. Oswald's school choir have been continuing to work on a 'Les Miserables' medley - including well known songs such as I Dreamed a Dream, On my own and At the end of the day - and how to sing in three part harmony.
The children have also been learning the songs Try Everything (from Zootropolis), One-and-a-Million and We are Proud of our School. Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to show our talents at some point in the near future.
The school choir meet every Thursday after school and is run by Miss Allom and Mrs Hambling. We thoroughly enjoy learning a range of songs from different genres. Currently we are looking at rock through the decades including a Beatles medley, some Queen and a very special performance of an Aerosmith number. Watch this space for more details.
Unfortunately, the choir will no longer be performing at The word on 16th December. We can only apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
The choir has had a busy Christmas season performing to a variety of audiences.
We were warmly welcomed by The Salvation Army to perform for them. It was lovely to see the audience singing along. As we travelled to and from the venue by bus we took the opportunity to singing for all the passengers as well.
We spent a fabulous morning singing for the residents of Huntcliffe House. Their smiles and generosity made the trip in the cold all worth while. Thanks again for your kind donation.
There is still time to catch us in one last performance this Christmas season. The performing arts concert is on Thursday 19th December at 9.15am. This is a perfect opportunity to see all of the fabulous work our performing arts groups have been doing.
Watch this space to find out our new programme for Spring term!!
