Reception

Reception class enjoyed a fabulous visit to Belsay Castle. We explored the beautiful gardens (but were careful not to touch!) and imagined what kind of imaginary creatures might live there. At the castle, we identified all the features we had been talking about in class. We especially liked the "murder holes" and the dark winding staircases.

Everybody worked hard and behaved well. A credit to St Oswald's school!

Our visit to Belsay Castle

Sheila the koala bear has arrived in Reception Class! She is visiting us from Australia and over the next few weeks we will be finding out about this fabulous country.

Australia will be "our team" for the World Cup so, come on you Ossies! World Cup Week takes place in school on the first week back after the half term break, running alongside our Science week.

We wanted Sheila to feel welcome so we have shown her around our local area.
