The Book of Hopes

Katherine Rundell has launched 'The Book of Hopes'. This is a free children's book written by over 110 authors and illustrators completely free for all children and families.

It is a collection of short stories, poems and pictures and  has contributions from more than 110 children’s writers and illustrators, including Lauren Child, Anthony Horowitz, Greg James, Chris Smith, Michael Morpurgo, Jacqueline Wilson and Katherine herself.

The collection is dedicated to the doctors, nurses, carers, porters, cleaners and everyone currently working in hospitals.

We hope you enjoy it!

Here are some more exciting chances to get active in your homes or gardens with StayatHome Resources! This is an opportunity for all of the children who are currently at home to join in and take part in an event that will be taking place for the children still at school.

It will run every day from Monday 18th May through to Friday 22nd May.

Each day you will have the chance to complete 3 different challenges within a given sport or activity.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to score those of you doing it at home,
however it is all about beating your own score to achieve your personal best!

I will post the activities on our Google Classroom daily and you can also see the activities on our school website and the South Tyneside School Sports Network Facebook page. Today starts with cricket!

Good Luck! 😊

Month of Mary

Today is the 1st May and May is the month of Mary.

Mary is our Mother who guides and comforts us.

When we pray the Hail Mary, we remember that Mary prays with us and for us. Why not pray a Hail Mary or a decade of the Rosary throughout the month of May.

Hello Reception Class,

I hope you have all had a lovely Easter break with your families and I am looking forward to hearing all about it when we return to school. Here are all of the tasks to complete this week with your adults at home.

Keep up all of your hard work and stay safe.

Your loving care

Lord Jesus,

when you walked with us on earth

you spread your healing power.

We place in your loving care

all who are affected by Coronavirus.

Keep us strong in faith, hope and love.

We lift our prayer to you Lord,

and trust in your infinite mercy,

as we wait for the daybreak.
