Homework

Daily reading

Please encourage them to keep up with their reading every day. The 'Word' is free to join and has a super selection of books.

On going maths homework

I have also checked that each child has their Mathletics user name and password so that they can work on some maths activities on there. I have assigned each child 10 suitable activities to work through. These will be topped up regularly as and when they  are completed. If you are visiting a library over the holidays your child could use a computer there to complete a maths activity if no computer is available at home.

Reading

We cannot stress enough how important it is for your child to be reading every night.

Reading is the single most important educational activity  that you can encourage  your child to do. Reading  could not only be a fantastically enjoyable hobby but will allow them to do well in all subjects at school. It will also allow them to become excellent writers of both fiction and non-fiction.

Please ask to see your child's homework to see if you are happy with the amount of effort they have put in before signing it.
