Our year 6 children have harvested the crops from the 'Dig It' garden. Our kitchen staff kindly cooked the potatoes and we feasted on the hard earned bounty at snack time.
The gardening gang having been out planting with Roy. After turning over the soil and adding compost, they planted daffodil bulbs,spinach, cabbage and beetroot. The garden club members will be actively watering and weeding over the coming weeks.
The Gardening Gang have been planting broad beans and covered them with fleece to keep them warm in winter. They also weeded the raised beds and cut some salad leaves and red lettuces to eat.
This week our Gardening Gang have been weeding the beds and planting beans. They also dug up Chinese cabbages which are going to be taken home to be eaten. A reward for their hard work.
As spring approaches, our gardening team have again been hard at work in our 'Dig it' garden. This week the team have been planting cabbages, cauliflowers and potatoes. Roy helped the children to replant daffodils into pots and beans from the greenhouse. In the coming weeks the children will be regularly watering our crops to ensure healthy plants.
