Bishop's Cup - Quarter Final

After making it to the quarter finals of the Bishop's Cup the school team were eventually knocked out getting beat off St Aloysius and drawing with St Joseph's. It was a good effort by the whole team.

Coyne League at Temple Park

The school football league concluded its last round of fixtures in March.  The team played well throughout the season finishing in third place behind Harton and Marsdon.  Well done!

The football season recommenced on the 2nd March at Temple Park.  We played Marsden first in a hard fought game that could have gone either way, eventually losing 1 - 0.  Our second game was against Mortimer Primary.  We won the game 1 - 0 although we dominated the game, hitting the post twice.

Our next set of fixtures will be played on Thursday 16th March at Temple Park.

Bishop's Cup 1st round

On 20th September 2016 the football team played in the first round of the Bishop's Cup.

The first round group stage included: St Benet's, St Mary's (Sunderland), St James' and St Oswald's.

We won against St James', drew with St Mary's and were narrowly beaten by St Benet's in the final game.

The team finished the round in second place, enough to send us through to the second round.

 Bishop's Cup 2nd round

The draw for the second group stage includes: St Oswald's, St Matthew's, St Bede's (South Shields) and Star of the Sea (Whitley Bay)

We are still awaiting a date to play.

Coyne League

St Oswald’s played another two games in the Coyne League against Harton and St Peters and Pauls. We were beaten by Harton 1-0 and we won 4-0 against St Peters and Pauls with goals scored by Lucy Wales, Jeffrey Hutton, Mark Bass, Alfie Smedley and some good saves from our goalkeeper Lucy Jo.

The league has now finished but will continue again after the winter break.

Coyne League

Last night the school played two league matches at Temple Park. We won our first game against Mortimer 3-0 with goals from Lewis Fay, Jeffrey Hutton and Mark Bass. We also won our second game 2-0 against Westoe Crown with goals from Lucy Wales and Mark Bass.  We still remain unbeaten in the league this year.
